One 'Game of Thrones' actor has a well-thought out theory for how the show will end

Loras Tyrell Finn Jones Game of ThronesWarning: Spoilers ahead for "Game of Thrones," including speculation on future events.

With "Game of Thrones" heading into its sixth season, fans are dying to learn the fates of their favorite characters. We know author George R.R. Martin has told the showrunners how the series will end, but the information ends there.

Naturally, fans have come up with their own ideas about the conclusion of the epic saga. Actor Finn Jones, who plays Loras Tyrell on the show, has some thoughts of his own.

At a New York Comic Con panel Thursday, Jones gave fans a taste of his own theory:

So basically, I think there will be a huge battle between ice and fire. They’ll have different factions. I think the ice and fire will completely destroy themselves in this great war.  They’ll destroy the whole of Westeros. They’ll dissolve the Iron Throne because they have to — because they have to use the steel. And then I think — a lot of people have died — and I think out of the ashes will come the tree people, and a select few people I think will [something] Westeros and give back power to the people.  “Dream of Spring,” is that the last book? Yeah, this idea of regrowth. And, I think maybe it will be Bran, Hodor, maybe Brienne, Tyrion, just good guys that want to give peace back to the realm.

By "ice and fire," we assume he meant the White Walkers versus dragons — the two fantasy elements of the show. And his point about the Iron Throne being dissolved is quite clever. The throne is made from ancient Valyrian swords which belonged of the original king's enemies. According to the books, the throne is comprised of over 1,000 swords.

iron throne Game of Throne MartinWe know Valyrian steel can kill the White Walkers, and it's super rare. It makes sense for the throne to be deconstructed for the sake of creating new weapons to use against the White Walkers.

The audience laughed when Jones mentioned "tree people" (Ents, anyone?) but it's likely he is referring to the Children of the Forest. These are mystical tree-dwellers who, according to legend, lived in Westeros long before humans ever arrived. Bran Stark met a Child of the Forest at the end of season four, so we know they exist.

As for the good guys, Jones seems set on seeing Bran, Hodor, Brienne, and Tyrion alive at the end of it all. Whether you agree or not, you have to admit his imagination is impressive.

'Game of Thrones' actress says she was bullied as a child for having 'a piggy nose'

A few weeks back, the internet was abuzz after ABC's new Muppets series not only revealed longtime couple Kermit and Miss Piggy broke up, but that Kermit also had a new girlfriend, named Denise.

When photos of Denise came online, many were quick to compare the character's appearance to actress Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell on HBO's "Game of Thrones."

Now, Dormer is weighing in on what she she thinks of the whole ordeal.

During a "Game of Thrones" panel at New York Comic Con Thursday afternoon, a fan asked the actress how she felt about being compared to the muppet character.

Dormer said she's already made the comparison a long time ago, and recalled a scene from "Game of Thrones" between her character and Sophie Turner's.

"I'm walking along the cliffs with Sansa and I'm telling her about how I was teased as a young girl," said Dormer. "Margaery is saying to Sansa, 'I'm not perfect. I used to get bullied because I got a ski jump nose.'"

Dormer says she asked "Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to add in a line about her nose.

"I said, 'Please can you put in a line that it was a piggy nose?' because I was bullied at school and I used to get told I had a piggy nose," she said.

"I've got big nostrils. My whole family does. It's a burden that we bear," she joked.

"So I said, for my own demons, it would be like sticking two fingers up at the bullies of my childhood if Margaery just is joking about it." she continued. 'They were really good guys. They put it in for me."

Now, she sees the whole Muppets ordeal almost as karma.

"So then when I saw that Kermit's got a new girlfriend, and she looks like ya know," said Dormer. "I thought, maybe I'm a bit responsible for that because I'm the one that brought up the pig subject in the first place."

Natalie Dormer Margaery Tyrell Game of Thrones

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for "Game of Thrones" if you're not caught up with the show.

New York Comic Con is in full swing, and one of Thursday’s highlights included a “Game of Thrones” panel.

Three actors from the show were on hand to discuss all things Westeros.

Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Keisha Castle-Hughes (Obara Sand), and Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell) fielded questions from both a moderator and eager fans.

One fan asked Dormer: “Do you think Margaery could have done the walk that Cersei did [at the end of season five]?”

The actress replied, “Oh we’re in dangerous territory for next season if I talk to you about that.”

Dormer may have hoped she was avoiding spoilers by leaving the question unanswered, but the response actually feels like a huge hint. Remember, Cersei and Margaery were both imprisoned in season five, accused of treasonous crimes. Cersei was forced to walk naked through King’s Landing as punishment for her admitted adultery.

Cersei Lannister Game of Thrones Season five But Margaery has yet to be issued sentencing for her crime (lying to protect her brother from homophobic persecution).

Dormer’s cryptic answer may have given us a hint about Margaery’s season six story line. Will we see a second “walk of shame” as the Faith continue their trials? This would be news to book readers, who have yet to see the outcome of Margaery's imprisonment.

We'll have to stay tuned for season six, but in the meantime, it's fun to speculate.

Cosplaying — the art of creating costumes and role playing — has always been popular among fantasy communities.

But HBO's "Game of Thrones" adaptation has been an increasingly popular choice for crafty fans.

From sewing elaborate dressed to assembling custom armor, "Game of Thrones" cosplayers often spend months getting their costumes just right. Bearing a physical resemblance to the character is also key.

We've searched high and low to find cosplayers who have not only recreated the "Game of Thrones" costumes, but also look like they truly belong in the world of Westeros.

Let's take a look.

Norweigan cosplayer Santatory made an intricate gown to transform into Margaery Tyrell. It helps that she looks super similar to Natalie Dormer, the actress who plays the young queen.

Emilia Clarke had to Wikipedia 'Game of Thrones' before she auditioned for the show

Esquire Emilia Clarke coverEmilia Clarke may be an expert on her "Game of Thrones" character Daenerys Targaryen now, but that wasn't always the case.

In a new feature with Esquire magazine, in which the actress was named the "Sexiest Woman Alive," Clarke explains how she researched the Mother of Dragons before auditioning for the HBO series.

She turned to Wikipedia!

"I had two scenes which told me nothing and not very much time in which to read all those [George R. R. Martin] books," Clarke explained. "So I did what every good actor does and Wikipedia'd the living crap out of it."

At the time of her audition, author George R.R. Martin had published the first four novels from the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Totaling over 4,000 pages, no wonder Clarke didn't have time to read all the books.

Daenerys' story has quite the Wikipedia entry.

In the first book, "A Game of Thrones," the 13-year-old character is molested and abused by her older brother, forced to marry a man nearly twice her age, and suffers a devastating miscarriage. All before performing a fire-magic ritual and bringing three dragons to life.

Good thing Clarke did her homework.

This isn't the first time Clarke has discussed her initial audition for the HBO show runners. During an appearance on "The Tonight Show," the actress told Jimmy Fallon about an awkward moment. "I was asking if I could do anything else...and [producer] David Benioff suggested I do a dance, ha ha ha]. So I did. I did a dance."

When Fallon asked what kind of moves Clarke busted out, she admitted it was bad.

"Well I don't know how to do it, but I did the funky chicken, and then I morphed into the robot," she admitted.

Between the Wikipedia research and her dance moves, Clarke clearly had what the casting director was looking for.

'Game of Thrones' author George R.R. Martin can't experience Comic Con in the same way anymore — and it bums him out

George R.R. Martin, Comic Con

"Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin is a longtime member of the fantasy and sci-fi community, and as such has made it a point to attend many fan conventions — Worldcon, DragonCon, Bubonicon, and San Diego Comic-Con.

In one interview, Martin told fans he not only attended the first ever comic book convention in 1964, but he was the first person to buy a ticket. Martin was 16 years old.

But all that has changed.

Since the debut of HBO's adaptation of his "Game of Thrones" series, Martin has become a bona-fide celebrity. Now, he can barely attend one of the Cons without being bombarded by fans of both the "Game of Thrones" show and his original book series, "A Song of Ice and Fire."

At this year's New York Comic Con, actress Natalie Dormer recalled speaking with Martin about this change. "He was talking about the early days, because he went to San Diego when it was really, you know, (laughs) he’s that old," Dormer explained. "I think there’s a little part of him that is just pure geek and he kind of misses just being able to walk around and merge in [with the crowd]."

Natalie Dormer NYCC 2015 Comic Con Game of ThronesDuring 2014's San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) Martin was asked what it was like attending cons now, and Martin replied: "It’s great, but there’s an edge to it too, I gotta admit." With 50 total years of attending cons under his belt, the author sounds bittersweet. "The truth is I miss aspects of what I used to do at Comic Con. I can’t walk the floor anymore ... and inside me there’s still that 13-year-old kid who wants to get that edition of Spider Man to complete his collection."

Martin repeated these sentiments on his LiveJournal in July 2015, when he announced he would be skipping SDCC in order to spend more time at home (hopefully working on his next "A Song of Ice and Fire" book).

If truth be told, San Diego has gotten overwhelming in recent years. There are always good times catching up with friends, and hanging with the cast, but it's not as if I can walk the floor anymore and look for old comic books, the way I once did.

Though Martin may miss the days of old, "Game of Thrones" has become a global phenomenon — something any writer dreams of. With two more highly-anticipated books in the works, along with at least two more seasons of HBO's adaptation, the ride of fame is far from over for Martin. Perhaps he can take a page from Mark Ruffalo's book, and wear a disguise to the next event he attends.

Just a few short years ago, unknown British actress Emilia Clarke had just two filming credits on her résumé: walk-on roles in a soap opera and a made-for-TV movie.

Now the "Mother of Dragons"reportedly earns north of $7 million per season in "Game of Thrones," the most watched show in HBO history. The cast is currently filming season six.

Since Esquire just named her the "Sexiest Women Alive," we're taking a look back at how Clarke rose to fame.

Born in the fall of 1986, Emilia Clarke grew up in the picturesque county of Buckinghamshire, in the south of England.

These ‘Game of Thrones’ characters travel much farther than you might realize

This 'Game of Thrones' map reveals the insane distance some characters travel

$

Warning: Spoilers from the “Game of Thrones” show and books.

If you just watched the HBO's "Game of Thrones," you might not realize just how big George R.R. Martin's world is and how far his characters travel. After all, while on-location shoots in Ireland, Spain, Iceland and other countries give a convincing geographic range, still characters will often depart one castle and arrive at the next with no indication of how far they've really traveled.

So how big are Westeros and Essos?

Several fans have worked hard to createinsanely detailed maps, using a quote from the books as the basis for scaled distance. In "A Storm of Swords," Night's Watch brother Sam Tarly says the Wall is "a hundred leagues long." Since the Wall spans perfectly from one edge of Westeros to another, and Martin said one league equals three miles, we can use this to measure distances elsewhere.

We've created our own map and charted four of the longest and most interesting journeys below:

Game of Thrones character travel map

Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish journeyed nearly 2,000 miles as his scheming brought him from King's Landing up to Winterfell. Then, in season five, Littlefinger traveled from Winterfell to King’s Landing in the span of just two episodes. The estimated distance of this journey is about 1,500 miles (the equivalent of traveling from Maine all the way down to Florida), though the show makes it seem like a breeze.

Yara Greyjoy was traveling during virtually all of season four, heading from the Iron Islands to the Dreadfort on a rescue mission. Since this entire voyage happened off screen, you may not have realized Yara was sailing around the entire continent of Westeros to get there.

Daenerys Targaryen wants to return to Westeros but has so far traveled nearly 5,000 miles in the wrong direction. Starting in Pentos, she's made her way east across Essos in order to gain power. Maybe next season we'll finally see her get closer to the Iron Throne.

Tyrion Lannister, meanwhile, has gone farther than any other character. From the northern tip of Westeros all the way to Slaver's Bay, his total mileage comes in just shy of 6,500 miles. That's the equivalent of going from New York City to San Francisco and back. Only instead of driving or flying in a plane, he's doing most of it at the speed of a horse's trot. Tyrion is notorious for reading foreign books and studying languages — clearly his cultural knowledge is paying off as he survives traveling around the known world.

Tyrion Lannister was supposed to look drastically different on 'Game of Thrones'

Tyrion Lannister Season 5

Peter Dinklage has succeeded in making Tyrion Lannister one of the most popular characters on HBO's "Game of Thrones." But given Dinklage's Hollywood looks, those who only watch the show may not realize how unattractive Tyrion was described in George R.R. Martin's original book series.

The very first written description of Tyrion was from Jon Snow's point of view, in the early chapters of "A Game of Thrones":

Tyrion Lannister, the youngest of Lord Tywin's brook and by far the ugliest. All that the gods had given to Cersei and Jaime, they had denied Tyrion. He was a dwarf, half his brother's height, struggling to keep pace on stunted legs. His head was too large for his body, with a brute's squashed-in face beneath a swollen shelf of brow. One green eye and one black one peered out from under a lank of hair so blonde it seemed white.

So — ugly, mismatched eyes, with a brutish face and white-blonde hair. That doesn't sound much like Peter Dinklage.

Here's one fan rendering of Tyrion's book description.

tyrion lannister fan art

If you're wondering why this Tyrion's nose is particularly gruesome, it's because the drawn scene takes place after the Battle of Blackwater (season 2 episode 9), where Tyrion was wounded. In the show, Tyrion is slashed across the face, leaving a scar up his cheek and on the bridge of his nose.

hbo game of thrones peter dinklage tyrion lannisterBut in the books, Tyrion gets more than just a brutal scar: nearly half his nose is chopped off. We can understand why the show opted out of hacking Peter Dinklage's face up — the prosthetics and CGI necessary to pull that off sounds rather elaborate.

Someone did the work of photoshopping Dinklage in order for fans to get an idea of what he would look like as a mangled Tyrion.

Here's another fan version of Tyrion, drawn by Cecilia Latella on DeviantArt. This one plays up the different colored eyes and blonde hair. She painted this in 2008 — before Dinklage was even cast for the role of Tyrion.

glenn the walking deadWarning: There are spoilers below if you're not caught up with "The Walking Dead."

Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead"ended in a brutal cliffhanger.

One of the main characters, Glenn (Steven Yeun), was presumably killed off in a grisly fashion when it appeared he was being torn apart by a zombie horde.

However, many fans have pointed out Glenn's death may not be so cut and dry (maybe he is alive!), and now they're comparing his supposed death to the season four finale of "Game of Thrones."

If you're not a "Game of Thrones" fan, viewers were stunned back in June when Kit Harrington's Jon Snow was seemingly stabbed to death by his Night's Watch brothers at the Wall.

Jon Snow Game of Thrones season five

Since then, it's been a back and forth between fans and HBO executives as to whether or not Jon Snow is actually alive

Fans of both shows were quick to comment on the similarities between both shows.

AMC was very careful Sunday evening not to say anything about Glenn's supposed death.

On "The Walking Dead" after-show "Talking Dead," showrunner Scott Gimple said this won't be the last we see of Glenn in some way.

"In some way we will see Glenn — some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn — again. Either in flashback or the current story to help complete the story," Gimple wrote in to the show.

Fans were quick to notice Glenn was absent from an "In Memoriam" included in each epiosde.

Typically, whenever a big actor is killed off, they subsequently appear on "The Walking Dead" after-show, too. While Yeun was noticeably absent, the actor is scheduled to be on next week's episode.

If you haven't seen the latest episode of "The Walking Dead," here's the scene in question:

In the clip, we see Glenn with Nicholas (Michael Traynor) surrounded by walkers. Nicholas decides to take his own life and the two fall into the zombie pit together. Viewers then see a body, presumably Glenn's, being torn apart.

Many fans believe Nicholas fell on top of Glenn, and we're actually seeing the zombies tearing apart Nicholas.

the walking dead glenn nicholasglenn the walking deadEven if that is the case, are we supposed to believe Glenn isn't going to be at least bit by one of the walkers?

Some fans suggested Glenn could roll under the garbage dumpster next to him, but that wouldn't be much help for long. Zombies can crawl.

The other theory is that since Glenn will be covered in blood and guts it will act as some sort of shield where he'll be able to blend in with the zombie herd. This is something that's been done back in season one, with Rick and Glenn, but that was with walker guts, not the intestines of a new corpse.

Unlike with Jon Snow, fans won't have to wait months to find out whether or not Glenn is alive.

They'll most likely have to wait an episode or two to find out the character's fate.

"The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.

These 'Game of Thrones' journeys differ drastically in the books and the show

King's Landing Game of ThronesWarning: There are spoilers ahead for “Game of Thrones,” including unaired material from the books.

Author George R.R. Martin has spent decades creating the world of Westeros in his best-selling series "A Song of Ice and Fire." From intricate maps to the histories of different cultures, there is an endless amount of detail included in the text. One of the challenges HBO faced when deciding to bring Martin's creation to life was dealing with the sheer scale of locations.

Despite the realistic sets, it's hard for viewers to truly grasp how enormous the world is within the show. The time elapsed between episodes is left ambiguous, and characters can sometimes depart one castle and arrive at the next with no indication of how far they've really traveled or in what direction.

We already made a map showing the scale of distances covered by characters in "Game of Thrones," but now it's time to compare their trips to the book series.

Below are four character's main pathways through Westeros, showing how their book journeys differ from the show's events.

Yara/Asha Greyjoy: From the Iron Islands to Deepwood Motte and the Dreadfort.

Asha (called Yara in the show) is the daughter of Balon Greyjoy and sister to Theon Greyjoy. In the books, Asha sailed from the Irons Islands to Deepwood Motte — a northern stronghold near Winterfell. She secured Deepwood Motte, but then returned to the Iron Islands.

In the show, she journeyed from the Iron Islands to Deepwood Motte and back — the same as the books. But when Ramsay Bolton, the sadistic son of Roose Bolton, sends them proof he captured Theon and is torturing him, Yara declares she will sail to the Dreadfort to rescue Theon.

Looking at the map, this is a borderline insane plan. The Dreadfort is on the complete opposite edge of Westeros from the Iron Islands. She sailed literally all the way around the continent of Westeros — an estimated 4,500-mile journey. The time this takes her in the show doesn’t quite add up. She left the Iron Islands in the season three finale, and showed up to rescue Theon just about midway through season four. Those are some fast ships!

Jaime Lannister: From King's Landing to the Riverlands and Dorne.

In the books, we first meet Jaime in Winterfell with the royal family. From there, Jaime went to King’s Landing, his home-base as a member of the Kingsguard. Before long, the war broke out and Jaime was ordered to the Riverlands in order to lead troops. There, Jaime was captured, but set free by Catelyn Stark.

Jaime then traveled with Brienne of Tarth, heading south back to King’s Landing. They were intercepted, however, and brought to Harrenhall. This was about the time when Jaime lost his hand. Eventually, he makes it to King’s Landing. Before long, he is sent away again — this time for diplomatic missions. Jaime travels all around the Riverlands, attempting to bring stability back to the realm.

Though the show matches most of Jaime's trip, it has (so far) left out Jaime's final journey through the Riverlands. Instead, during season five, he was sent to Dorne to rescue Myrcella. Perhaps season six will show Jaime back in the Riverlands and on track with the book events.

Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish: From King's Landing to the Eyrie and Winterfell.

Book readers first met Littlefinger in King’s Landing, where he sat on the council of the Iron Throne as the Master of Coin. He eventually teamed up with the Tyrell family to poison King Joffrey, and left King’s Landing with Sansa Stark in tow. He took Sansa to the Eyrie, where her Aunt Lysa lived in the Vale. They remain there according to the most recently published book.

In the show, Littlefinger’s path in the show is nearly identical to his book-journey. But season five brought his story line, along with Sansa's, into unprecedentedly different territory. Instead of staying in the lands of the Vale, Littlefinger and Sansa go to Moat Cailin. There they meet the Boltons, and plan to ride far north to Winterfell together.

However, Littlefinger gets called to King’s Landing by Cersei shortly after they arrive. In the span of two episodes, Littlefinger somehow manages to travel from Winterfell to King’s Landing. The estimated distance of this journey is about 1,500 miles, but the show makes it seem like a breeze.

In "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," Gwendoline Christie plays the masked, mysterious, and evil Captain Phasma. This makes her the first female villain in "Star Wars" history.

Christie thinks it's a huge step forward for the series.

"What I think people are drawn to is that this is a very progressive female character,"she told EW. “We see Captain Phasma, and we see the costume from head to toe, and we know that it is a woman. But we are used to, in our media, connecting to female characters via the way that they look, from the way they are made flesh."

We don't know if the character will ever take off her mask. Christie called the role a "fangirl's dream."

After marrying Khal Drogo, Daenerys headed east towards Vaes Dothrak with her new husband's horde of Dothraki nomads. She had to go there to participate in Dothraki rituals, securing her place as their queen. The group traveled for close to a year, according to the books. (This only takes five total episodes in the show.)

After they arrived in Vaes Dothrak, Khal Drogo died from an infection, and Daenerys was cast out from the Dothraki. With her newborn dragons, she decides to keep moving east, looking for shelter.

The timeline on this is vague in the books, but the trek is covered in just three episodes of season two. Clearly, the showrunners opted to speed up the process for the sake of the show. Daenerys secured ships in Qarth and sailed to Slaver’s Bay.

Her first stop was Astapor, home of the Unsullied army. Daenerys decided she couldn’t stand by and witness its horrible slave conditions. After killing the slave traders and winning the loyalty of the Unsullied, Daenerys headed to the next slaver’s town, Yunkai. She conquered Yunkai, freeing more slaves, and then moved onto Meeren.

daenerys game of thrones season 4Daenerys spent all of season five and the fifth book in Meeren, trying to rule the city as Queen. Though she began traveling west again, the young queen is very far from Westeros. Ever since fans saw her dragons, the hope has been that Daenerys will storm into Westeros and take the Iron Throne for herself. But seeing her journey on a map really brings to light how far she is from achieving that goal.

As of now, she still has a good 3,000 miles to go. It's also worth noting that her last known whereabouts are a mystery. She flew away from Meeren on her dragon, and fans are in the dark about her true location.

Since the show has now surpassed Daenerys' book storyline, perhaps the upcoming season six plot will shed light on her forward progress.
